田子の浦にうち出でて見れば白妙の富士の高嶺に雪は降りつつ
たごのうらにうちいでてみればしろたえのふじのたかねにゆきはふりつつTago no ura ni uchiidete mireba shirotae no Fuji no takane ni yuki wa furitsutsu
“Coming out upon Tago Bay, I see: on Fuji's high peak, white, the snow still falling.”
The meaning
The path opens, and the mountain appears. Twelve centuries later, the surprise of a landscape revealed all at once has not aged a day.
